Zambia or Zimbabwe
Map : Zambia Zimbabwe

After having frequented the Zambezi Valley for over fifteen years and having shared some of our enjoyment of "The Valley "with overseas friends we want you to join us in this unique experience.

Early morning…. the shrill call of the Fish Eagle and grunt of the Hippo summons the angler to the huge silent flowing waters of the mighty Zambezi River. These waters are the "Pandora's Box" of the valleys fresh water species, which present the angler with many challenges.

Tiger Fish : King of this piscatorial haven is the huge aggressive Tiger fish that roam this water in their endless pursuit of food. Fish of over twenty-five pounds are not uncommon. With teeth that of an oversized Rotweiller these fish will devour anything in their way.

Vundu : Monster Catfish"Vundu" for the unfortunate angler that has a hook up with one of these brutes rest assured will be entertained in a battle of a life time, reaching a size of over two hundred pounds these steam trains will have the angler busy for hours.

Bream : Countless numbers of huge Bream weighing up to 10 pounds do not need much coaxing into savaging a well placed fly or lure.

Nkupe : These large shoaling fish with a small mouth and subtle strike, have action written all over it from the moment the hook is set until it's in the landing net

Chessa : The silver flanks of Chessa will not be the only image that they will leave with you, these fish provide endless fun once located in their large shoals.

Furthermore the strange looking Bottlenose, Cornish Jack and Electric Catfish if the fight in these do not wake you up then the electric charge will, these are but a few of the hidden secrets of "Pandora's box" The Nyami-Nyami River God awaits your presence in the Mighty Zambezi valley.

CLIMATE AND WEATHER

Winter Temp: 40-70F Degrees (May to September)
Summer Temp: 70-115F Degrees (October to April)
Highest Rainfall: Feb to Mid March

The area that is fished has intense and at times unbearable summer heat. The months of October to December are known as "suicide" months but if an individual is prepared to tolerate the heat during this period, excellent fishing is on the cards.

The winter temperatures are moderate; good fishing with the added bonus of seeing plenty of game can be experienced at the rivers edge between May and September.
August is the month to avoid due strong and consistent wind.
