Mozambique
Map

Situated in the warm currents of the Indian Ocean north of Sebastian Peninsular lies a small band of Islands .The largest of these islands Bazaruto followed by Bengurea, Margarque and and Inhaca make up this archipelago. This treasured jewel is made up of numerous and diverse environments and present its secrets in the form of shallow reefs with mangrove lined back water, a maize of deep channel lined with perfect white beach broken by rocky points giving access to deep blue water.

Year round the lure and fly fishing fanatic can indulge in some of the finest fishing imaginable. These shores are the backyards of some of the biggest Jack (trevally) with fish in excess of 35lbs been landed on fly, with the big guns being landed on large plugs and lures of 80lbs and over, and this can be achieved from the beach!

Springer, this slender lightning bolt found in large shoals once hook will have your line more out the water than in, frantically leaping in all directions these fish have been caught in excess of 20lbs A true challenge awaits the angler to try and control this one.

Queen fish : this is home to some of the biggest specimens in the world. Although not the down right dirty fighters that Trevally are, they have the untamed speed and airborne agility of a fighter jet and are a true pleasure to catch on fly.

Kawa-kawa : brute strong by nature with speed to match, spot these fish in their shoals, and an experience of a lifetime will unfold.

Stumpnoze : the strike of this fish has to be experienced feeding over sandbars close inshore they will pounce on any well-presented offering.

Then there are the toothy critters King Mackerel and Queen Mackerel snatching at any small lure or fly in their vicinity.

Then for the brave not to far offshore one will find the Big Guns, Marlin in the summer period and Sail fish in the winter period bring in the teasers and let the action begin…
