Traveller's Guide

Most areas frequented are recognized Malaria belts. Travellers are requested to consult their physicians before embarking on the trip to make sure they take the necessary prophylatics for sufficient time before embarking to ensure their protection. Sufficient prophylactics for the duration of the tour should be brought with you. We suggest that you bring insect repellents that you are familiar with. The guide will have the most reliable insect repellents with them should you choose not to bring your own ar should you run out.

The areas you will go to will be wild country. The reality is that other dangers exist in the form of lion, crocodile, hippo, elephant and many other species of game. For you safgety it is imperative that you listen to the experienced guides at all times. Wild animals are not predictable and these animals are not in a game park. Our guides are very experienced and, with their knowledge and skill to guide you, you are assured of an experience of a lifetime.

Recommended clothing.

  • Cotton Trousers
  • Sweat suit
  • Comfortable walking shoes, sneakers and sandals.
  • Quick dry short pants, long pants and shirts Long sleeved shirts are preferred as they provide the most protection.
  • A hat that will shade your entire neck and face.
  • Polarized sunglasses.
  • Binoculars, a camera and lots of film.
  • Ma;aria Tablets (as noted above)

Please remember that where we will be going there is no access to any shops of any description. What you forget you will have to do without. If you have any concerns about what you should or should not take, please discuss these concerns with your guide before you leave,

Suggested Travel Arrangements

Duration of a round trip should be approximately 10 days.

Mozambique & South Africa

If your destination is Mozambique or South Afrtica you should make arrangements to to arrive at Jan Smuts Airport in Johannesburg (Johannesburg is now named Gauteng), South Africa. Your guide will meet you at the Airport and you will be in his care from then to your depature date. Jan Smuts Airport is a busy international airport and the main arrival point for most vistirs to South Africa. Please make sure you have a very clear meeting point with your guide as well as a backup plan should you miss each other due to flight delays or weather.

Zimbabwe and Zambia

If you destination is Zambia or Zimbabwe you should make arrangements to land at Harare Airport in Zimbabwe. Your guide will meet you at the Airport. Please make sure you have a very clear meeting point with your guide as well as a backup plan should you miss each other due to flight delays or weather.

Visas and Travel Documents.

Apart from a valid passport you may be required to have a Visa. As the requirements for Visas change you should check with your travel agent who will have the most up to date information. Please make sure that you inform your travel agent what passport you will be traveling on so that they can provide the most accurate Visa information.

Language

English is widely spoken in the areas you will be going to. All of Fishing Reels Africa's employees speak fluent English and can act as translators should the need arise.
